He never thought he would find something that was more beautiful and precious to him than his beloved mountains. Nor could she have ever known her destiny would lie in a warrior-Chieftain who embodied the very brave and free spirit of the rugged Highlands she admired most, with honor and kindness that matched her own.
His strong embrace and unwavering heart was all she needed to make it through any tribulation the harsh life and times could bring. Similarly, the Homecoming he received upon returning from battle is what he held most dear--his Great Love--and it was within her arms that he found his refuge.
He held her by the light of the moon shimmering across the serene mountain loch, of which splendor was surpassed only by the deep love they had for each other; so much bliss that they felt they were one with each other and with all the great beauty surrounding them.
It was this moment, just like their connection in how they completed each other, which would live on forever. Their undying love was where their true Homecoming lay, for even death could not part them. They would still be in one another’s heart until they were to meet again in life or in the Afterlife, and come “Home” to each other’s loving arms once more.
Some say our Soul Mate does not incarnate with us but once, if at all. Yet, it is also a great truth that a love forged through lifetimes can become so profound and strong that our original counterpart grows to be more of our best friend; whereas, our Love in life becomes our consort on the Other Side as well as on Earth, evolving into the ideal we perceive as our Soul Mate.
