An Artist’s Vision
I have always had a deep love for God and belief that everything happens in our lives for a purpose.
I grew up on a working farm in Northern California and began drawing at a very young age. Art became a blessed catharsis for me to heal from the painful experiences endured while traveling down the tough road to self-love through overcoming rejection, loss, domination, control, etc; just as we all experience in one form or another in the school of life.
I began depicting aspects of spiritual concepts likened to Stations of the Cross for an all-encompassing, loving philosophy.
One day during a hypnosis session in an attempt to regain higher self-esteem, I had an unforgettable experience which shaped the future of my work. Quite to my surprise, I noticed a figure standing silently near me and turned to discover my Guardian Angel watching me.
The gaze of the tall, gloriously bright and beautiful creature was fixated upon me as angels do constantly watch and protect us but it wasn’t until it shrugged its shoulders that I noticed the folded wings; so long that they reached the floor.
It showed me a scene laid out behind itself which held more angels than I could possibly count. They were all different and beautiful, and had the features of so many different races in their faces.
I heard a voice say, “These are all the angels you have yet to draw.”
It was the first of a few angelic experiences that inspired me to share my vision through art, with the world. I could never possibly capture the magnitude of their true splendor through merely a depiction but have enjoyed attempting to recreate their luminescent beauty which I witnessed.
I think of angels, as well as other Heavenly Helpers, as the fingers of God’s hands which are working in our lives to love and protect us. I endeavor to create these images to be reminiscent of God’s finger prints as evidence of the unconditional love our Divine Creator holds for us.
I hope you enjoy my work and God Bless you on your path,
-Christina
