Where Heaven and Earth Meet

A Young Watusi warrior runs under an orange African sun across the plains after a fruitful day of hunting. Many come together for the hunt and though he does not realize it, one who he runs with is secretly a rival. Out of the jealousy in his heart, the man plans to betray him in the next warriors’ challenge, their test of strength, believing he will take the warrior’s power and have what is not his to have.

They arrive in the village carrying the makings for a feast to begin their highest ritual, the Fire Dance. Darkness fell and the flames billowed while the warriors, wearing the mane of the mighty beasts they revered, danced around the great fire. The embers and smoke rose to the heavens carrying with it the needs of the men, as a prayer up to the Great God of the Sky, highest of all deities.

Their Sky God hears their hearts and grants them bravery and agility for the hunt, abundance for the village, and protection from evil spirits. During their entrancing dance, visions have been known to rise up from the ash for those with an open heart who may be given a message from their deity.

Enthralled in his dance before the fire, the brave warrior feels his heart enraptured and his spirit mesmerized by a supernatural occurrence. For a brief moment, as if Heaven and Earth met, the veils between this world and the next thinned for him and the captivating vision appearing through the flames revealed his destiny after his time in this world was through.

She was a beauty of which he had never seen the likes before. As he met her gaze, he felt such love emanating from her heart that it completely filled his soul, and he realized she was his alone. He knows she can only be his soul mate bringing him strength and courage to meet the challenges that lie before him in life and the promise of eternal love when his time here has ended.
